Baltic Junior Cup 2022 – International Junior Orienteers Visited Raseborg

The Baltic Junior Cup 2022 winners from Småland, Sweden.

OK Raseborg and FSO organized the Baltic Junior Cup orienteering competitions 2022 in Västerby, Raseborg, on 29–30 October 2022. Regional or national teams from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Finland, in total ca 200 young orienteers, competed in long-distance and mixed relay courses for classes W/M 16–20. The long-distance competition was won by:

  • W16 Venla Lehtonen, Varsinais-Suomi
  • M16 Florian Fritzén, Uusimaa Lynx
  • W18 Saga Wickholm, FSO, and Sandra Ling, Småland
  • M18 Svante Selin, South Sweden
  • W20 Elsa Ankelo, Varsinais-Suomi
  • M20 Alex Virtala, FSO.

The mixed relay with six legs (one runner from each class) was won by Estonia after a tight race. Småland 1 finished second and Småland 2 third. Varsinais-Suomi, one of this year’s guest teams, came fourth. South Sweden was fifth and Lithuania sixth.

The overall cup winner of this weekend was Småland with a clear difference. FSO was second and Latvia third with a very small difference to FSO.
